Now, before starting let’s know what a shape is.
What are Shapes?
A Shape is a geometric figure of an object or its external surface, outline, or external boundary. A Shape is opposed to other properties such as color, texture, or material type. There are two types of shapes that people draw – 2D shapes (Two Dimensional figures such as Square, Rectangle, Circle, Triangle, and More) & 3D shapes (Three Dimensional figures such as cone, cylinder, cube, sphere, and more).

Shapes Name with Pictures
A Circle is a Two Dimensional (2D) figure. A circle can be made by starting from any point at fixed ratios to the center point. The circle has an angle of 360 degrees and the half-circle has an angle of 180 degrees. The External boundaries of the circle are called its diameter and the length from the center point to the diameter is called the radius.
A Triangle is a 2D (Two dimensional) figure. A triangle has 3 sides and an angle of fewer than 90 degrees each. The total of triangle interior angles is 180 degrees.
A Square is a 2D (Two Dimensional) figure. A Square has 4 sides each with equal length and an equal angle of 90 degrees. The total of Square’s interior angles is 369 degrees.
A Rectangle is a 2D (Two Dimensional) figure. A Rectangle has 4 Sides (Parallel Sides equal) and an equal angle of 90 degrees. The total of the Rectangle’s interior angles is 360 degrees.
A Right Triangle is a two-dimensional (2D) figure. It is also called a Right angle triangle. It has a total of 3 sides and 3 angles in which one angle is 90 degrees and the remaining are less than 90 degrees.
A Parallelogram is a two-dimentional (2D) Figure. A Parallelogram has 4 sides (Parallel side lengths are equal to each other) but the angles are not equal (Parallel side angles are equal to each other).
A Rhombus is a 2D (Two-dimensional) figure. A Rhombus has 4 sides of equal length but without equal angles.
A simple star polygon is a combination of polygons. That forms an equiangular, equilateral star-like structure.
A Cube is a 3D (Three Dimensional) figure. A cube has 6 faces, 12 edges, and eight vertices. Each side length of a Cube is equal to each other and all the angles are equal to 90 degrees each.
A Cuboid is a 3D (Three Dimensional) figure. A Cuboid has 6 faces, 12 edges, and eight vertices. The Parallel sides and the parallel angles of a Cuboid are equal to each other.
A Pyramid is a 3D (Three Dimensional) figure. A Pyramid has 4 faces, one facing to the ground.
A Prism is a 3D (Three Dimensional) figure. A Prism has 5 faces (Three Rectangles and Two Triangles).
A Diamond is a 3D (Three Dimensional) figure. Diamond is a carbon compound and is one of the strongest materials on earth.
A Cylinder is a 3D (Three Dimensional) figure. A cylinder has a curved cylindrical surface that is perpendicularly connected with two parallel circular bases.
A Sphere is a 3D (Three Dimensional) figure. It is a closed spherical surface without angles.
A Pentagon is a 2D (Two Dimensional) figure. It is a polygon that has five equal sides, and the angle of the vertices is 108 degrees each.
A Hexagon is a 2D (Two Dimensional) figure. A Hexagon is a polygon with 6 equal sides and 6 equal angles of 120 degrees each.
A Heptagon is a 2D (Two Dimensional) figure. A Heptagon is a Polygon with 7 equal sides and 7 equal angles.
An Octagon is a 2d (Two Dimensional) figure. An Octagon is a Polygon with 8 equal sides and 8 equal angles of 135 degrees each.
A Nonagon is a 2D (Two Dimensional) figure. A Nonagon is a Polygon with 9 equal sides and 9 equal angles of 140 degrees each.
A Decagon is a 2D (Two Dimensional) figure. A Decagon is a Polygon with 10 equal sides and 10 equal angles.
